Samsung projection tv manual convergence




















Thread starter snowgoose01 Start date Nov 8, The STKs and resistors were bad. I replaced the convergence board and the convergence issues were almost completely gone. The user accessible red and blue convergence and perfect focus all worked fine. I downloaded the service manual; then was able to enter the service menu and service convergence modes and adjust the convergence slightly to eliminate the slight red mis-convergence.

I do not have a screen jig, but used two pieces of string taped to the TV to mark both the edge sensors and the center of the screen. The convergence grid is square with no distortions and the center lines line up precisely with the sensors and screen center. Any ideas is to what I am doing wrong? Going back to my Sony KP44 PS2 days this had an auto convergence feature that I disconnected as manual service level convergence is a much better way of doing it.

Have you tried it in a darkened room as I can remember the Sony did say to do it in a dark room. You seem to be doing it the correct way with registering the settings sorry cant be of any more help but I think that you are best to get the manual service level convergence correct and save the settings and leave the magic focus alone as I found this just pulled the convergence out from a full service level convergence.

Sorry My friend, there is no color wheel inside your set. They dont have those in a tube type projection TV. Your problem is the convergence IC's on the convergence board. If you can get the entire board from Samsung you would have alot less headaches. After the board is replaced you also might find that the board is going to need an alighnment. This is only done through a service menu on the TV set. Good Luck, and please let us know if you fixed the set.
